Due to COVID-19, New Jersey Elections will be primarily Vote-By-Mail. In-person polling locations will be very limited on Election Day.

Vote by Mail:

Make sure your ballot is mailed and postmarked by November 3. If you prefer, you can place your ballot in one of the five ballot drop boxes located in Morris County. They resemble a USPS Blue Mailbox, but are red, white & blue and display “Morris County – Official Ballot Drop Box.”  UPDATE – MORE BOXES TO BE INSTALLED BY LATE SEPTEMBER, INCLUDING ONE AT THE CHESTER TOWNSHIP MUNICIPAL BUILDING. The Vote-By-Mail ballots (VBMs) will be picked up on a daily basis and brought to the BOE. All Security measures will be followed when collecting and transporting the VBMs. VBM Drop Boxes will be closed at 8:00 pm, close of polls on Tuesday, November, 3.

If you have a disability and need an accessible ballot, vote at a polling place on election day, where you’ll be given a headset and accessible device to allow you to cast your votes.

Chester Township’s polling location for all wards/districts is the Highlands Ridge Barn, 100 North Road, Chester.

  1. First, make sure you are registered to vote.
  2. Next, sign up for an NJ Department of Elections public access account.
  3. Once you’re logged in, click on the “Mail-in Ballot” button. Your entire history of mail-in ballots will be listed here – if your ballot hasn’t been received yet, it won’t be listed.
