On behalf of the Mayor and Council of Chester Township, all are welcome to join us as we commemorate the addition of a “Survivor Tree” seedling and rededicate the memorial created in memory of Chester resident and Port Authority Police Officer, Gregg Froehner, who perished saving others at the World Trade Center.
Through the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, Chester Township was granted a seedling recovered from a Callery pear tree, which was rescued from the site of the terror attacks at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. This tree became known as “The Survivor Tree”, a symbol of hope and rebirth. Today the tree stands as a living reminder of resilience, survival and renewal.
We hope you are able to join us on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 4:00 p.m., as we remember those lost.
