From Recreation Director Ashley White:
“The Chester Borough and Chester Township Recreation departments have joined together to form one department that will serve residents in the Chester area. As the Recreation Director for both municipalities, my goal is to enhance the lives of residents through increased recreation programming, special events, and wellness initiatives.
I join Chester Recreation from the Township of Livingston, where I was the Facility Operations Coordinator. In that role, I was responsible for planning and organizing diversified year-round programs and activities. While working as a summer camp counselor during high school, I developed a passion for the recreation field and went on to earn my bachelor’s degree (Cum Laude) in Parks and Recreation Management from Northern Arizona University. I am a member of the National Recreation and Parks Association as well as the New Jersey Recreation and Parks Association where I have the privilege of serving on the Board of Trustees as a section Chair, an Executive Board member for the Community Recreation section, and several committees focused on the education and professional development of recreation personnel throughout the state. I am very excited to bring my prior knowledge and experience to Chester!
The governing bodies of both towns and I are looking forward to this new beginning and the positive benefits of this collaboration. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, comments, concerns or requests via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, phone at (908) 879-3660 ext. 2134, or in person at 50 North Rd.”
