You would apply for a license in Chester Township if…

• either the applicant resides in Chester Township OR
• neither applicant is a resident of New Jersey but the ceremony will be performed in Chester Township

It is strongly recommended that you call ahead to schedule an appointment to assure that the Registrar, Deputy Registrar or Alternate is available to take the application.
 

The first page of the license application can be completed before applying for a license. The application must be completed by the prospective spouses and witness in front of the Registrar. A fee of $28 is due at time of application and payable by cash or check made out to Chester Township.
