The Township of Chester maintains a modern, well-trained and equipped police department, serving the residents of Chester Township and Chester Boough, New Jersey.  Staffed by 22 full-time officers, 4 part-time officers assigned to our public schools and one civilian, every member of the Police Department is dedicated to the communities we proudly serve every day.  The Police Department prides itself on being proactive and serving as a valuable resource and partner in bettering our community. 

It is the mission of the Police Department to serve all people with a high degree of Courtesty, Professionalism and Dedication and we accept nothing less.  We are dedicated to protecting the life, liberty, and property of every person in our community and we value the strong bond that we have with our community.
