Bear-Proof Garbage Cans - Update

Update as of January 20th: Chester Township has received 166 bear-resistant garbage cans from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP). To manage distribution in a fair and efficient manner, Chester Township used a random selection process to determine which residents that filled out the interest form will receive the cans. Those residents will be contacted by the township by email regarding instructions for receiving their garbage cans.

We expect to get additional cans and will continue to choose names at random from the interest form to determine who will receive them. Thank you for your patience as we awaited their delivery.
