Baby Formula Recall

From the Board of Health:

The FDA has expanded its recommendation to recall ALL unexpired lots of ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula (cans and single-serve sticks).

Why? The recall expansion is due to reported illnesses, the identification of new lot codes, and suspected cases of Infant Botulism, including a preliminary positive sample of the bacteria.

 IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED:

• STOP using any ByHeart infant formula product right away.
• SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION if your child consumed ByHeart formula and shows symptoms of Infant Botulism, which can include: constipation, poor feeding, loss of head control, difficulty swallowing, or decreased facial expression. Botulism can be fatal.
• If you still have the product, keep it, label it DO NOT USE, and record the package info. Do NOT throw it out yet, as the state health department may want to test it.
